Can't quite see how they morphed it into a cash machine, maybe you could explain.

You must be pretty disappointed since there hasn't been any new Guild Wars 2 info, for what about a year now?

Guild Wars is a great game. The story was fantastic, and the instanced world was a great concept, and the lower level cap meant a less of a grind. That's why it did good. This of course being Prophecies, which is where Anet should've stopped the GW franchise and should've just added onto it.
Dont forget this is just your opinion. You didnt like AoC, I was blown away beyond belief by the game, during the Tortage part only that is.

I wonder how many people would be playing GW today if it had a fee, I would reckon that the games servers would have closed down a long time ago.

You didnt like AoC, but from the sound of it you dont like games with lots of levels. I dont mind level grind as long as it is enjoyable, but incomplete games never are, and paying fees for an incomplete game was crazy talk.
If AoC actually had no fees, it would have been a successful game just like GW is, but people will not carry on playing a game that is unfinished or incomplete.

Also many people have now done everything there is to do in GW, this is then where the fun ends when all that is left to do is title grind, which by the way requires far more time spent then level grind does in other games. Level grind is only a problem if you let it be one. You can play a game well and enjoy it even if it has 100 levels, just as long as the game has plenty of stuff to do throughout those levels.

Just as with the other games, they have based ensuring sales of GWEN on preparing skills that make previous skills less important to the game. They also have increased difficulty, nerfed or buffed skills, etc. to the point where if you only have one game or the original games most of the achievements will be very rare or impossible for you on normal skills.

This has combined with NC Wests policy of: 1) extending player interests through encouraged to near forced farming and, 2) nerfs aimed at making skill combinations that work for success unusable; in both cases such that players must take much much longer to achieve little or nothing.

The sad part is, if you ignore what they have destroyed in all three games and expansion, and have no interest in any kind of accomplishment, then the game is still fun on a light and fluffy nothingness level.

Someone has pissed in Fritz's cherrio's judging by his recent posts, don't mind him. He's having armor remnant issues.

the "No Monthly fee" makes the game easy to pick up, drop, pick up again, drop again, over and over with little to no worry.

Inbetween he drop and pick up up things change, albeit not always for the good. But it's changes none the less. It's interesting to find themout and redo some old things in a new way.

Personally I don't do the "drop pick up" thing. I do a PvE/PvP thing, about every three months I change up, it tends to keep me interested.

I really haven't found a better "No Fee MMORPG" out there, infact there really aren't alot of "fee MMORPGs" better out there, though I do miss FPS games, most of which are no fee.
